Generic Course Designing for 21st Century Learning


To examine and challenge the participants current understandings and practices around course design / re- design with consideration given to the influencers and drivers for the course design process and also to discuss the barriers to learning are essential and inform the role of activities and assessment within the course design.



Course design is the informed and strategic development of structured and contextualized learning activities which will result in the students ‘successful acquisition of desired skills and understanding. ( Boon).

Course design concerns itself with planning the content, pedagogy and assessment in individual, courses.

Dr Ghita, a Lecturer and coordinator at School of Education, Strathclyde University, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Dr Ghita has worked in the Scottish Education Department – Ministry of Education, United Kingdom, Secondary sector (Mathematics and Science) for more than 15 years prior to joining the School of Education at University of Strathclyde in 1998.

Dr Ghita has over 25 years of proven experience in Education and in Initial Teacher Education and CPD delivery.

Dr Ghita is also the Execrative Director of the Egyptian British Research and Education Organisation in the UK.
