Creating a Climate for Learning for 21st Century Learning
A focus upon teaching for understanding and theories of learning, creating a climate for learning and the value for learning.
Also a focus upon achievement of engaging students in dialogue as a form of teaching and learning and Introduction to the formative assessments.
If students are to engage with learning at a deep level such that they come to a deep understanding of the subject matter in hand and are able to apply their knowledge to real contexts and to more complex abstract problems, we need to teach for understanding, underpinned by an understanding of theories of learning.
If students are to achieve to their full potential, attention needs to be paid not only to the cognitive domain but to the affective domain.
It is important to understand the facilitators and barriers to student learning which relate to the student in interaction with his/her environment.

Dr Ghita has worked in the Scottish Education Department – Ministry of Education, United Kingdom, Secondary sector (Mathematics and Science) for more than 15 years prior to joining the School of Education at University of Strathclyde in 1998.
Dr Ghita has over 25 years of proven experience in Education and in Initial Teacher Education and CPD delivery.
Dr Ghita is also the Execrative Director of the Egyptian British Research and Education Organisation in the UK.
