Integrated skills in learning Arabic
This is an intermediate course in reading, listening, writing & speaking. It integrates the four skills in one course by exposing the students to a wide variety of Arabic texts, audio and video materials. It aims to:
1- Develop student's ability to read Arabic written texts & consequently answer questions based on them.
2- Increase & enforce student's range of vocabulary in Arabic through both:
- Recognition (reading & listening)
- Production (writing & speaking).
Within a framework of essentials of syntax and morphology.
1- To present the basics of Egyptian Colloquial Arabic speakers to students.
2- To provide students with adequate and functional exercises.
3- To be able to communicate in daily life situations.
11 years in teaching Arabic as a foreign language (since 2006) at AUC (Master of teaching Arabic as as foreign language TAFL at AUC).
2 years in training teachers to teach Arabic as a foreign language (since 2014) at AUC (Training of trainees TOT at AUC).
Taught also at International Language Institute (ILI) (2014), Middlebury College (US) (2015), Misr International University (MIU) (2016).
PhD in Arabic and comparative literature between Arabic and French (2014) at Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.
